REDD Team designs and manufactures prefabricated aluminum stairs for industrial sites. Our modular, bolt-together stair systems install fast. They also stand up to harsh environments such as those found around industrial areas and work zones.
All of our systems align with OSHA’s walking-working surface rules for geometry, strength, and guard/handrail protection. In addition, our industrial portfolio covers production floors, mezzanines, loading docks, rooftops, and crossover routes where crews need a safe, predictable way to move above hazards.
Built to OSHA Expectations
We engineer stairs and landings to the core provisions outlined in 29 CFR 1910 Subpart D.
Standard Stair Geometry
- 30°–50° stair angle
- Uniform risers/treads
- Minimum width 22 in. between vertical barriers
- Landings/platforms at least the stair width and ≥30 in. deep. Where doors open onto a stair, the platform depth may not be reduced below 22 in. for new work.
- Stairs must support ≥5× anticipated live load, and they must support ≥1,000-lb concentrated load at any point.
Guard/Handrail Systems
- Guardrails and stair-rails sized and anchored per 1910.29, which includes heights, strength, midrails, and smooth surfaces to avoid snags.
Walking Surface Condition
- Our slip-resistant, self-draining decking keeps surfaces clean, dry, and maintained in wet and wash-down conditions, which can all frequently occur at industrial sites.
Why Aluminum for Industrial Stairs
Aluminum delivers strength without the corrosion, weight, or repaint cycles of painted steel. These are all advantages for industrial sites that experience humidity, washdowns, or outdoor exposure.
REDD Team’s prefabricated stair pages highlight aluminum’s high strength-to-weight ratio; the result is safer handling during installation, easier relocation, and lower life-cycle cost. The stairs provide rust-free performance and long service life with minimal maintenance.
Modular, Fast, and Repeatable
All of REDD Team’s prefabricated components arrive ready to bolt together on site. There is no hot work required, so you can set stairs during outages. In addition, you can also move and shift them as equipment layouts change.
Adjustable legs and standardized landings shorten field fit-up; slip-in rails and legs simplify redeployment across projects.
REDD Team’s Universal Stairs and Dura-Grip stair families exemplify this modular approach for industrial and trailer access.
Details That Improve Daily Safety
Industrial routes are exposed to wet shoes/boots, workers carrying a variety of tools, and high daily traffic. With such exposure, safety remains a concern.
. Our stairs ensure safety by using the following:
- Slip-resistant, self-draining treads
- Continuous handrails with proper returns
- Toe-boards/kick plates at platforms where falling objects are a concern
Rest assured that all features align with OSHA’s guard/handrail criteria and good practice for walking surfaces.
Integrates With Platforms, Walkways, and Crossovers
Most of our industrial access packages combine stairs with platforms, catwalks, and crossovers. As a single manufacturer, REDD Team supplies compatible aluminum platforms, walkways, and crossover stairs so everything seamlessly matches and goes together with ease. This helps you standardize finishes, fasteners, and inspection points across the site while keeping pedestrians safely above conveyors, piping, and traffic lanes.
Proven Applications
From maintenance platforms and roof access to loading docks and utilities galleries, REDD Team‘s industrial prefabricated aluminum components solve real-life issues at industrial sites without sacrificing compliance or schedule.
