Any electric sources, heavy machinery, or other large items in your worksite will likely have spaces you’ll need regular access to for maintenance or repair purposes. REDD Team recognizes the importance of those devices at your workplace and can build maintenance access stairs that will help you reach those spots.
Your maintenance access stairs will go on the side of any space that requires regular access. You can plan the stairs to reach a control panel, an engine, or any other spot you need to check on occasion. Let us know how your space is designed and where you need to reach, and we at REDD Team will plan and build a thorough prefabricated stair system for your space.
Why Aluminum Is Necessary
We use aluminum in all our maintenance stair installations. Aluminum is a metal that is not only easy to carry and maintain but also safe to stand on while working on equipment. In addition to the metal not being at risk of conducting or promoting shocks, the floor can also feature a slip-resistant surface. The design will feature indentations, grooves, or other features that will help you keep your feet in place while working, reducing the risk of harm.
A Safe Color
We can also get your steps painted yellow. While the coloring might not be important, yellow is necessary for our aluminum maintenance steps because OSHA standards require these steps to be yellow. In addition, yellow is easier to see than most other colors, so you’ll know where the steps begin and end.
How Will You Arrange Your Stairs?
You can ask us at REDD Team to create steps that adhere to your specific maintenance station’s design. We’ll provide a layout that is wide enough and has guardrails and handrails that fit all OSHA rules.
The total height for your steps will also vary based on the installation process. Some layouts can cover about three to five steps. Taller ones may require a secondary landing in the middle. You can also get a secondary landing if the steps change direction midway through.
The surface should be wide enough to handle at least two people going down a spot. Considering how multiple people might need to be on hand to manage certain maintenance and care processes, having a wide space is critical, and REDD Team can build a platform that is wider than what you’d get from most other stairs.
Can the Stairs Handle Various Conditions?
Your aluminum stairs will stay functional no matter how many things might happen around your maintenance site. Your stairs can resist vibrations from nearby devices, intense heat, and other risks. You won’t have to maintain the steps themselves too often, as aluminum is more resilient than many other materials.
