All aluminum stair systems have unique parts designed to keep everything together and stable. When properly installed, your stairs will provide a secure and safe area where people can go up and down. REDD Team will help you plan a secure aluminum stair system that fits your spot.
The assembly process will entail multiple pieces designed to keep your stairs safe and easy to use. Here’s a look at what you’ll find in your assembly:
- Stair surfaces
The surfaces for your stairs include both the steps themselves and their backings and any landing spots you’ll use at the top or bottom. All surfaces should be flat and easy to grab, although additional grooves and other anti-skid features can be included as necessary.
The number of steps necessary will vary depending on how high the steps will go. Since your steps should be less than eight inches in height each, you can determine how many steps are needed based on the bottom area and the spot you want your steps to reach. REDD Team can work with you no matter how high those steps will go.
- Intermediate landings
In addition to top and bottom landings, you may need an intermediate landing if your stairs are long enough. A landing in the middle is necessary if your stairs require an extended rise or your steps will change directions. The landing is also longer than most other materials, but it’s made of the same aluminum material.
- Rails
The handrails on the stairs should be sized to where they’ll go along the sides of your stairs. The rails are typically slanted upward, although flat rails can work whenever there’s a landing. There should be enough room at the ends to help people go up and down as well.
- Anchors
The anchors underneath the steps will keep everything supported in one place. Anchors can hold the parts together while keeping the surface from shifting from regular use. Our workers at REDD Team can determine the proper anchors necessary and plan them to go under different parts of your steps.
- Bolts and other fasteners
You’ll also require bolts and other items to fasten the anchors and other parts to a spot. The specific items you’ll need will vary surrounding your setup and how the parts are arranged. REDD Team can determine the necessary equipment and provide it for your assembly.
All these parts of your assembly will be ready for installation when you get your shipment from us. We will provide all the assets for your stairs in your package, so you won’t require any other tools for assembly or preparation. Since everything is right there, you can get your steps assembled in about a day on average. No cutting is necessary, nor do you need any tools outside of what we provide.
