As one of the leading aluminum wheelchair ramp manufacturers in Maryland, REDD Team delivers corrosion-resistant, modular systems with slip-resistant walking surfaces and continuous handrails. Each system is engineered for rapid installation at occupied facilities and durable performance in Mid-Atlantic conditions.

Aluminum Wheelchair Ramp Manufacturers Maryland

REDD Team designs and manufactures aluminum wheelchair ramp systems in full conformance with the Maryland Building Performance Standards (MBPS), which require all jurisdictions to enforce the International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC) and the Maryland Accessibility Code, which incorporates the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design. We provide aluminum wheelchair ramp systems and companion access products engineered for code compliance, rapid installation, and long service life.

Aluminum Wheelchair Ramps for Maryland Sites

Fabricated from structural aluminum extrusions, REDD Team ramps are corrosion-resistant and virtually maintenance-free. The rugged materials and designs are an advantage for coastal and bayfront conditions from Baltimore and Annapolis to the Eastern Shore.

Our MD aluminum wheelchair ramp systems are designed to align with all requirements from submittals through final inspection. The ramps feature slip-resistant walking surfaces and smooth, continuous handrails to support safe, everyday use in wet or freezing weather. Also, field welding is not required, which helps projects finish on compressed schedules at occupied facilities.

Proper Slopes

Maryland adopts the ADA’s technical criteria for ramps. For new work, the maximum running slope is 1:12 (8.33%). Where space is constrained in existing facilities, short runs may use steeper slopes, 1:10 for rises up to 6 in., and 1:8 for rises up to 3 in., as permitted by ADA guidance.

Landing Requirements

Landings must be level, at least 60 in. long, and at least as wide as the ramp; where direction changes, provide a 60 in. × 60 in. landing.

Handrail Requirements

Handrails are required on both sides where the rise of a run exceeds 6 in., with tops 34–38 in. above the ramp surface and continuous extensions at the top and bottom. Minimum clear width between handrails is 36 in.

Modular Aluminum Ramps For Schools, Healthcare, & Public Buildings

REDD Team’s Universal Wheelchair Ramp System provides ADA-compliant access for public buildings, schools, clinics, and modular facilities statewide. Components are modular and reusable, with adjustable heights and slopes to address varied thresholds and grades.

Assemblies install quickly, often within a day for typical configurations, reducing disruption during school breaks or phased renovations.

For Maryland school projects, our Baltimore-focused guidance reiterates the 1:12 slope and uniform-slope requirements across runs and landings.

Pair With Aluminum Stairs For Workforce Access

Many sites need public ADA access and separate workforce access. REDD Team’s Universal Aluminum Stairs and OSHA stair lines integrate with ramps to create unified circulation around buildings and equipment.

Stair systems are fabricated from aluminum, meet applicable codes, and can be relocated or reconfigured as needs change, well-suited to temporary swing spaces, modular classrooms, trailers, and platform access common to Maryland projects.

Maryland Wheelchair Ramp Support and Submittals

Every REDD Team access product is engineered and mechanically tested for performance. Our team supports Maryland projects with layout assistance, code-aligned submittals, and coordination for fast delivery across Baltimore City, Montgomery, and Prince George’s Counties, Anne Arundel, Howard, and beyond.
