REDD Team manufactures aluminum ADA-compliant wheelchair ramps for schools from K–12, modular classrooms, and higher-education facilities. Each wheelchair ramp assembly is designed for ADA compliance, rapid installation at occupied sites, and long service life with minimal maintenance. Components are fabricated from structural aluminum, mechanically tested, and supported with code-aligned submittals for straightforward approval.
Wheelchair Ramps Built For School Environments

School sites demand durable access that stands up to high foot traffic, weather, and daily cleaning. REDD Team ramps feature slip-resistant walking surfaces and smooth, continuous handrails to support safe, everyday use.
Aluminum construction resists corrosion and does not require field welding, which helps projects finish during short breaks without disrupting class schedules.
ADA Requirements: What The Design Must Include
Our layouts are developed to meet the technical criteria referenced by the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.
- Running Slope: 1:12 maximum (8.33%) for new work. In existing facilities where space is limited, short ramp runs may use steeper slopes which are up to 1:10 for rises ≤6 in., and up to 1:8 for rises ≤3 in. (no steeper than 1:8 permitted).
- Landings: Level landings at the top and bottom of each run; landings where direction changes must be at least 60 in. × 60 in. Clear. Ensure that any grade breaks are perpendicular to the run. One thing to note is that no change in level is ever allowed on the landings.
- Width:36 in. minimum clear between handrails. Greater widths may be required if the ramp is part of a means of egress per life-safety codes.
- Handrails: Installation of handrails are required on both sides where the ramp run rise exceeds 6 in. and the top of the gripping surface is 34–38 in. above the ramp surface, with continuous extensions at the top and bottom. One thing to note is that standard exceptions apply at switchbacks.
Modular Aluminum Ramps For Schools And Portables
The Universal Wheelchair Ramp System is a modular platform for permanent entrances and temporary swing spaces alike, which makes it ideal for portable classrooms and schools. Adjustable heights and slopes make it straightforward to match varied thresholds across campus buildings with ease.
Redd Team’s standardized components and bolted connections ensure speedy field assembly. Also, they allow for possible future reconfiguration as student enrollment, traffic patterns, or site logistics change.
Safe For Students Of All Ages
In locations where school campuses serve younger students, handrail strategies can include an auxiliary “child rail” installed below the primary handrail while effectively maintaining ADA-compliant graspability and clearances.
Combined with slip-resistant decking and continuous top rails, these small safety details help students, staff, and visitors move with confidence in wet or winter conditions.
Integration With Campus Circulation
Ramps frequently work alongside aluminum stairs at alternate entrances, portable classroom clusters, and stage/platform access. REDD Team provides coordinated stair and ramp solutions so schools can separate public and service traffic, maintain egress widths, and standardize finishes across the site.
Campus Phasing & Summer Installs
School projects often run on compressed windows. REDD Team’s modular aluminum ramps are shipped as standardized components that bolt together on site so there is no field welding required.
Crews can complete installations during summer break, long weekends, or evening shifts without disrupting classes. Layouts are prepared from threshold heights and grades to minimize site modification, and assemblies can be relocated or reconfigured as swing spaces move through a campus.
For multi-phase programs, components may be staged and reused, reducing cost and keeping finish standards consistent across buildings. Submittals are packaged for straightforward review, and inspections are coordinated to maintain required egress throughout each phase.
REDD Team supports school projects with layout assistance, stamped drawings when required, and fast delivery. Because systems are standardized and mechanically tested, submittals are predictable and installations are repeatable, which is an advantage for summer break timelines and phased renovations.
