A tower stair setup can help maintenance staff members reach the roof of your property without having to access it from inside the building or through more sensitive surfaces around a roof. A tower stair can also work for construction purposes, as one of these systems can help workers access various spaces. REDD Team is available to help you prepare one of these setups.

Tower Stair SystemsA tower stair will create a body for access to the top parts of your building. The design is safe to use in many situations, but proper assembly is necessary for keeping everything successful when getting this unique setup arranged.

Safer Than Ladders

Tower stairs are safer to use than ladders because these towers are better organized. Instead of having to prop a ladder up on a spot while keeping it secure, a tower stair can install on the side and provide a full-size stairwell that helps get people up and down.

The angle of steps on a tower stair setup is about 30 to 50 degrees on average, much less than the 60 to 70-degree layout on a ladder. It’s easier and safer for people to go up and down the steps because of this feature.

It’s also easier for people to move up and down the stairs because there’s more room here than with a ladder. An OSHA-compliant tower stair will have steps that are about 34 to 36 wide, a total about twice as wide as what you’d find on a ladder.

How Do You Install It?

Tower stairs require a bit of effort to install, but our experts at OSHA Team can build the aluminum materials beforehand and ship them to your site for assembly.

The assembly process will require a few additional steps:

  1. You will need to put everything together through a series of fasteners and other materials. Your parts will include connection sleeves to simplify how you can align all these parts.
  2. You can use a crane to lift some of the more massive items to the top part of the tower. This effort works by assembling a portion at the ground level and then using a crane to move it to the top. You’ll then align the parts as necessary.
  3. The anchoring materials can include a cage-like item that goes around the outside of the tower. There should be enough feet on the bottom to keep everything secure.

How High Can a Tower Get?

The general height of your tower stair system can be as high as necessary, but be sure when setting yours up that they’re easy to handle. The stairs should be balanced well to where they will not be at risk of tipping. Our designs will provide secure bodies that let you align everything in moments without risking anything slipping apart or otherwise being hard to manage.
